Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial Coming Despite Recent Acts Of Vandalism.

Veterans’ Memorial Park on Walnut Grove Road in Middletown, CT. will be coming soon to remember our heroes who served for us! Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial, Inc. is dedicated to constructing this living-trees memorial at Veterans’ Memorial Park on Walnut Grove Road in Middletown, CT.
This memorial will honor all veterans and especially those with ties to Connecticut. It will encompass a beautifully designed space that will include a tree planted for each of Connecticut’s heroes who gave their life serving in the most recent wars. They are determined to make this a serene, reflective space where families, friends and visitors can be reminded of the valiant courage, bravery, and selflessness of our Connecticut men and women who served and sacrificed.

The Memorial will serve as a lasting record of the unselfish devotion to duty and an inspiration to future generations visiting the park. It is a part of their mission to support the families of the fallen and also the veterans who have returned and carry the memories of their fallen comrades.
                                                     The Memorial’s Design

The Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial design was carefully considered and appropriately influenced by the Gold Star families of Connecticut. Our Fallen Heroes are no longer with us but their memory lives on in the hearts of their loved ones, our State and the Nation. Accordingly, each of our Heroes are symbolized by a living ornamental tree as a symbol of their lives given but still very much alive in our hearts.

Located in Veterans Memorial Park in Middletown, CT the Memorial is composed of two unique sculptures and a ring of 65 trees with sitting areas. Each tree is uniquely dedicated to each of our Fallen Heroes with a granite plaque engraved with a photo. A reflective place to be sure but a place that is also meant to be alive with honor.

Trees will be planted the week of Sept. 15th. The planting of the trees will complete the first phase of the project, and installation of a stone walkway and other features will be done next year.

Shawn R. Beals reported in the The Hartford Courant today about two recent acts of vandalism at Veterans Memorial Park. He tells us that it has officials worried about the new Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial currently under construction. Sue Martucci, president of the memorial committee, said windows in two pieces of equipment have been broken at night in the last month.  Click To Read The Story!
